Il singolo di apertura dei Mondiali 2010

Diventerà il tormentone della prossima estate 2010 e rimarrà nei cuoi di tutti perché non sarà una semplice canzone estiva ma sarà l’inno dei Mondiali di calcio 2010 che si disputeranno a partire da giugno. Si intitola ‘Wavin’ Flag’ ed è cantata da un rapper di origini somale, K’Naan.

Nato a Mogadiscio, K''naan ha vissuto la guerra civile nella sua Somalia, iniziata nel 1977. A lasciare il paese insanguinato furono prima il padre, che insieme ad altri intellettuali si trasferì a New York, iniziò a lavorare come tassista, mandando soldi alla famiglia e dischi di hip hop di Nas and Rakim al giovane K''naan. Poi il peggiorare della situazione somala costrinse la famiglia a chiedere rifugio politico negli Stati Uniti, nel 1991 la famiglia lasciò il Paese.

Da allora per K’Naan è stato un susseguirsi di incontri fatali che lo hanno portato al successo negli Usa, a collaborazioni importanti e alla sua partecipazione a numerosi eventi di natura benefica. La scelta ricaduta su di lui di aprire i Mondiali 2010 sarà certamente uno degli eventi più importanti che segneranno la sua vita e la sua carriera.
